Oscar nominated actress Kristen Stewart ("Spencer") has signed on to star in A24's upcoming film "Love Lies Bleeding" directed by double BAFTA nominee Rose Glass ("Saint Maud") from a script co-written by Glass and Weronika Tofilska ("His Dark Materials", "Hanna").
The romantic thriller is a romance fueled by ego, desire and the American dream set in the world of bodybuilding, and its story is centered on the extreme qualities it takes to succeed in the competitive world of bodybuilding.
Stewart will play the co-lead, a protective lover of a female bodybuilder. Casting for the lead role is currently underway.
A24 will produce alongside Andrea Cornwell for Lobo Films and Oliver Kassman for Escape Plan Productions. Film4 developed the film alongside the filmmakers and will co-finance with A24, which will also handle the film's global release.
Stewart will also soon make her feature directorial debut with the romantic drama "The Chronology of Water".
