Joseph Gordon-Levitt to Play TV Host Johnny Carson in Biopic Series KING OF LATE NIGHT

Joseph Gordon-Levitt to Play TV Host Johnny Carson in Upcoming Biopic Series
Joseph Gordon-Levitt ("The Dark Knight Rises", "500 Days of Summer") will play beloved TV personality Johnny Carson in an upcoming biographical series written by "Deadwood" creator David Milch and directed by four-time Emmy-winner Jay Roach ("Game Change", "Recount").

Titled "King of Late Night", the series will follow the life and career of late-night TV pioneer Johnny Carson from New York to Los Angeles to the Las Vegas strip. It will reveal how Johnny's diehard connection to his audience overlapped with his lifelong desire for a basic quality of life, and how his beloved on-screen persona came into conflict with the more colorful aspects of his personal life.

"King Of Late Night" has been in development for the last five years, and Milch had already been working on the script for a couple of years when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2019. Gordon-Levitt, Milch and Roach executive produce with Paul Lee, David Flynn and Paul Green.

Gordon-Levitt will also star in and direct the musical comedy "Wingmen", which also stars Channing Tatum. He is also set to star in the thriller "White Night" opposite Chloe Grace Moretz.
