Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it has been described as an exploration of faith vs. technology - an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions. Gilpin will play a nun who goes to battle against an all-powerful A.I.
Emmy-winning helmer Owen Harris ("Black Mirror: San Junipero", "Brave New World") will executive produce and direct multiple episodes of the series, including the first episode. Hernandez will serve as showrunner. Warner Bros. Television will produce.
Gilpin can next be seen in Starz's political drama miniseries "Gaslit" opposite Sean Penn and Julia Roberts, Apple's feminist anthology series "Roar" and Showtime's drama series "Three Women".
