Alice Eve ("Belgravia", "Star Trek Into Darkness") is set to lead CBS' upcoming drama pilot "Early Edition", which is a reboot of the 1990s series of the same name that starred Kyle Chandler in the lead role. The original series aired on CBS from 1996-2000.
The show follows Beth (Eve), the Executive Producer of KSEA, a local Seattle TV news station. A journalist/investigative reporter since she was a kid, Beth is very focused on getting the story no matter what, which sometimes puts her at odds with her beloved mentor, Tommy, who believes that the most important thing about a story is the people and its human toll.
Melissa Glenn ("Zoo", "Beauty and the Beast") will write and executive produce. Sony Pictures Television and AFFIRM Television will produce in association with CBS Studios.
Eve recently finished work on the action comedy "Freelance", which also stars John Cena and Alison Brie, and the horror film "The Queen Mary". She can next be seen in Prime Video's drama series "The Power".
