Michael Keaton To Star In and Direct Noir Thriller KNOX GOES AWAY

Michael Keaton Picture

Michael Keaton ("Batman", "Birdman") is set to star in and direct the noir thriller "Knox Goes Away". Keaton will direct from a script by Gregory Poirier ("National Treasure: The Book of Secrets", "Eight Below", "Jack the Giant Slayer").

The film follows a contract killer who, after being diagnosed with a fast-moving form of dementia, is presented with the opportunity to redeem himself by saving the life of his estranged adult son. But to do so he must race against the police closing in on him as well as the ticking clock of his own rapidly deteriorating mind.

Keaton will reunite with "Spotlight" producer Michael Sugar and Ashley Zalta. The film is expected to begin filming in late-August in Los Angeles.

ICM Partners and Verve Ventures are co-representing domestic rights. FilmNation Entertainment is handling international sales at the upcoming Cannes market.

Keaton will next reprise his role as Batman in Warner Bros' superhero flick "The Flash".
