Bella Thorne To Star In Thriller SAINT CLARE From AMERICAN PSYCHO Writer

Bella Thorne Picture

Actress, model and singer Bella Thorne ("Midnight Sun") has signed on to star in the thriller "Saint Clare", which will be directed by Mitzi Peirone ("Braid") from a script she co-wrote with Guinevere Turner ("American Psycho") based on the novel "Clare At 16" by Don Roff. A novel sequel will be released in 2023.

The film will follow Clare Bleecker (Thorne), a quiet catholic college student with a divine vocation for killing. Rebecca DeMornay ("Jessica Jones") is in talks to join the cast, and additional casting of key roles is currently underway.

Screen Media has picked up worldwide rights to the project and will have its Foresight Unlimited division launch international sales at this month's Cannes market. Screen Media will distribute the film in the U.S. Here's what the studio had to say about the project:
"With such a talented pedigree, we're thrilled to be continuing our relationship with Cassian Elwes and his Elevated Films banner and working with Bella Thorne again on this powerful project that will captivate audiences.".
Thorne is currently filming the crime comedy "The Trainer", which also stars Julia Fox, Gina Gershon, Beverly D'Angelo, Colleen Camp and Stephen Dorff. She recently finished work on the thriller "Rumble Through the Dark", in which she stars opposite Aaron Eckhart. Future projects include the sci-fi film "The Uncanny", "Salem State", the sci-fi thriller "Exo", and the thriller "Divinity", which also stars Stephen Dorff, Scott Bakula and Karruecehe Tran.
