The new Wizarding World movie "Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore" opened in theaters this week, and while it dominated the box-office, it delivered a disappointing franchise-low debut. Sony's Mark Wahlberg movie "Father Stu" also opened in theaters, but failed to make an impression.
Meanwhile, Michael Bay's "Ambulance" continues to disappoint, "Everything Everywhere All at Once" continues to impress, a new Indian film makes it into the Top 10, and Warner Bros' "The Batman" crosses a new milestone.

"Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore" opened with $43 million from 4,208 theaters, a massive step down from the 74.4 million of 2016's "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and the $62.1 million debut of 2018's "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald". The film already opened overseas last week, and raked in $71.7 million this weekend for an international total of $193 million. "Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore" received a harsh reception from critics (48% on Rotten Tomatoes), but moviegoers mostly liked it ("B+" CinemaScore).
Last week's No. 1 movie "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" finished in second place this weekend with $30 million, dropping 58%. The film has, so far, grossed a total of $119.6 million in North America, and another $112.2 million internationally, for a global total of $231.8 million.
The adventure comedy "The Lost City" held at No. 3 with $6.5 million. The film only dropped 28% and its domestic total has now reached $78.5 million.
"Everything Everywhere All at Once" has expanded further to 2,220 theaters and finished in fourth place this weekend with $6.1 million, up from No. 6 last week. The film's domestic total has reached $17.6 million, which is pretty great considering it only cost $25 million to produce.
The R-rated drama "Father Stu" opened in fifth place with $5.7 million from 2,705 theaters. The film's 5-day total will end up at around $7 million. Critics were not particularly impressed (42% on Rotten Tomatoes), but audiences enjoyed it ("A" CinemaScore).

"The Batman" finished in eight place with $3.8 million, dropping 43%. The film has now crossed the $750 million mark worldwide.
A surprising entry in the Top 10 is the Indian film "K.G.F: Chapter 2", which opened in ninth place with $2.8 million.
