Blake Lively to Make Film Directorial Debut With SECONDS Adaptation Written by Edgar Wright

Blake Lively to Make Film Directorial Debut With SECONDS Adaptation Written by Edgar Wright
Blake Lively ("Gossip Girls", "A Simple Favor", "The Shallows") will make her feature directorial debut with the upcoming film "Seconds", an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name created by Bryan Lee O'Malley.

The script is written by Edgar Wright, who previously adapted O'Malley's "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" into the 2010 film starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Lively made her directorial debut last year, when she shot the music video for Taylor Swift's "I Bet You Think About Me". The video earned her nominations for the 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards for directing and producing.

"Seconds" follows the story of Katie Clay, the owner and head chef of the titular restaurant. One night, a mysterious spirit provides Katie with the ability to alter reality by writing something she wants to change in a notebook, eating a mushroom and falling asleep. As Katie begins abusing the power to alter her past mistakes, her actions slowly cause the fabric of time and space to unravel.

Wright is also producing along with Marc Platt. The film is set up at Searchlight.
