Salma Hayek to Replace Thandiwe Newton in MAGIC MIKE'S LAST DANCE

Salma Hayek will replace Thandiwe Newton in the sequel "Magic Mike's Last Dance", the third film in the "Magic Mike" series. According to a Warner Bros spokeperson: "Thandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step away from the production of Warner Bros. Pictures’ ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’ to deal with family matters".

The threequel is currently filming in London. Channing Tatum and director Steven Soderbergh are returning along with most of the original team. Gergory Jacobs, who directed the 2015 sequel "Magic MIke XXL", returns to produce.

Hayek will star as the female lead. The script is penned by Reid Carolin. The film will premiere on HBO Max.

The first two films in the franchise have grossed over $300 million at the global box office, and spawned a stage show called "Magic Mike Live".

Hayek can next be heard in the upcoming animated sequel "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish".
