"Barbie" is still the #1 movie at the box-office even after four weeks, grossing $33.7 million, which marks a soft 36.4% decline from the previous frame. The film's domestic total has reached $526.3 million, and with another $657.6 million raked in overseas, the film's worldwide cume has reached $1.18 billion.
The epic biopic "Oppenheimer" is also doing well in second place with $18.8 million, with only a 35.4% decline from last week. The film has grossed a total of $264.2 million domestically, $384.7 million internationally, and $649 million worldwide.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" climbed from #4 to #3 , grossing $15.7 million in its sophomore weekend. The film only dropped 43.8% from its debut, which is encouraging. It has already earned $72.7 million in North America, and another $21.9 million from overseas markets.
The creature feature sequel "Meg 2: The Trench" dropped a steep 57.7% and finiished in fourth place with $12.7 million. The film has grossed $54.1 million domestically after 10 days, lagging behind its predecessor. Overseas it earned a total of $202.8 million, which brings its global tally to $256.9 million.
The Top 5 is rounded out by Universal's newly released horror film "The Last Voyage of the Demeter", which opened with a weak $6.5 million from 2,715 theaters. Although the film wasn't particularly expensive with a budget estimated at $45 million, it still needs around $90 million to break even. The film received mostly negative reviews from critics (49% on Rotten Tomatoes), and a lukewarm reception from moviegoers ("B-" CinemaScore).
