Jessica Chastain Replaces Michelle Williams in HBO's SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE

Jessica Chastain Replaces Michelle Williams in HBO's SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE
Two-time Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain has signed on for the lead role in HBO's upcoming limited series "Scenes From a Marriage". Chastain will reunite with Isaac, who she worked with on the 2014 feature "A Most Violent Year". Michelle Williams, who was originally cast as the lead, was forced to exit due to scheduling issues.

Written and directed by Hagai Levi ("Our Boys", "The Affair"), the limited series is an adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's "Scenes From a Marriage", which aired on Swedish television in 1973 and starred Liv Ullman and Erland Josephson. The series will depict love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple.

Levi, Chastian and Isaac will also executive produce alongside Michael Ellengerg, Amy Herzog, Lars Blomgren, Daniel Bergman and Blair Breard. Filming is expected to begin soon.

Chastain will also star as country singer Tammy Wynette in a limited series for Spectrum, Paramount Network, and Paramount Plus.
