Zendaya in Talks to Play Ronnie Spector in A24 Biopic
Emmy-winning "Euphoria" star Zendaya is in talks to star in the upcoming Ronnie Spector biopic.

A24 and New Regency Films have acquired Spector's life rights and the rights to her autobiography "Be My Baby", which she co-wrote with Vince Waldron. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Jackie Sibblies Drury is attached to write the script.

Spector is best known for starting the legendary 1960s musical group The Ronettes with her sister Estelle Bennett and cousin Nedra Talley. In 1963 they recorded their
breakthrough hit "Be My Baby".

They are also famous for other 1960s hits like "Baby, I Love You" and "The Best Part of Breakin' Up". The Ronettes were signed by record producer Phil Spector, who Ronnie eventually married in 1968 and divorced in 1974. Ronnie Spector was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

Zendaya will also produce alongside Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, Mark Itkin, and Tom Shelly. Jonathan Greenfield and Spector will executive produce.
