Emmy winner Billy Crudup ("The Morning Show") is in early talks to join the cast of Warner Bros' upcoming DC Comics movie "The Flash". "It" helmer Andy Muschiett is set to direct, and the latest draft of the script was written by Christina Hodson ("Bumblebee").
The film will follow the titular superhero, played by Ezra Miller, who goes back in time to prevent the murder of his mother, an act that proves to have unintended consequences for his timeline. Crudup will play Barry Allen aka The Flash's father Henry.
The actor was previously attached to star in the film back when Rick Famuyiwa was on board to make the movie, and he will be making a new deal for "The Flash". He also played the character in a couple of scenes in 2017's "Justice League", but he will reportedly have more screen time in Zack Snyder's cut of the film.
Kiersey Clemons was also attached to play a key role in the early stages of pre-production, but it is unknown if she is still on board.
"The Flash" is scheduled for release in June 2022.
Crudup recently starred in Richard Linklater's "Where’d You Go Bernadette" and the drama "After the Wedding" opposite Julianne Moore and Michelle Williams. He will also star in the second season of "The Morning Show".
