Robbie Amell to Star in, Produce FLOAT Film Adaptation
"Upload" and "Code 8" star Robbie Amell is set to star in and produce "Float", the upcoming adaptation of Kate Marchant's Wattpad teen-romance story.

The Wattpad - Collective Pictures co-production will center on a character named Waverly, whose parents' messy divorce force her to leave her life in Alaska to spend the summer in her aunt's sunny beach town, only to clash with an arrogant, jaded, beach bum named Blake. The original Wattpad story racked up over 25.5 million reads.

Here's what Amell had to say about the project:
"Kate wrote such an incredibly touching and relatable love story. I hope the fans are as excited as I am to see these characters come to life"
Wattpad has amassed nearly 1 billion uploaded stories, and has more than 50 TV and film adaptations in the works worldwide, including Deanna Cameron's "What Happend That Night" from Oscar nominated "Children of Men" scribe David Arata, and T.L. Bodine's "The Hound", which is being scripted by Angela LaManna (Netflix's "The Haunting of Bly Manor").

Aron Levitz, head of Wattpad Studios, said in a statement:
"With a global fanbase and millions of reads, Float is an incredible story that audiences everywhere will fall in love with.".
