Sebastian Stan to Play Donald Trump in THE APPRENTICE

Sebastian Stan To Play Donald Trump In The Apprentice

Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Sebastian Stan ("Pam & Tommy") is set to play a young Donald Trump in the upcoming film "The Apprentice" from Cannes' Un Certain Regard Award winner Ali Abbasi ("Holy Spider"). The cast also includes Jeremy Strong as Roy Cohn and Maria Bakalova as Ivana Trump.

The film is an exploration of power and ambition, set in a world of corruption and deceit, and it will examine Trump's efforts to build his real estate business in New York in the '70s and '80s, also digging into his relationship with infamous attorney Roy Cohn. It's a mentor-protege story that charts the origins of a major American dynasty.

The screenplay is written by Gabriel Sherman, whose bestseller "The Loudest Voice in the Room" inspired Showtime's miniseries "The Loudest Voice" starring Russell Crowe as Fox News founder Roger Ailes.

Producers are Daniel Beckerman of Scythia Films, Jacob Jerek of Profile Pictures and Ruth Treacy of Taylored Films. The executive producers are Grant Johnson, Gabriel Sherman and Amy Baer.
