GRIMM Reboot Movie In The Works at Peacock

Grimm Reboot Movie In The Works At Peacock

Peacock is currently working on a reboot of NBC's 2011 cult favorite supernatural drama series "Grimm". Josh Berman ("Drop Dead Diva", "The Mob Doctor") is writing and executive producing the feature-length reboot alongside the original series' creative team, co-creators/executive producers and showrunners David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner's Hazy Mills Productions and Universal Television.

Not much is known about the plot for the "Grimm" movie, but it is believed to have ties to the series for the fans while also introducing new mythology and characters in order to be more easily accessible to new viewers. No doubt, there are hopes that if the movie is a success, it could spark a new franchise.

The original series followed Portland Homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), who discovered he is a Grimm, the latest in a line of guardians who are sworn to keep the balance between humanity and mythological creatures. "Grimm" became a breakout during the 2011-2012 season and went on to run for six seasons on NBC. It also did well internationally for NBCUniversal.

A year after series finale, NBC attempted to develop a spinoff centered on a female Grimm, from writer Melissa Glenn, Hazy Mills and Universal TV, with Greenwalt and Kouf as consulting producers.
