"A Haunting in Venice", the thrid installment in Kenneth Branagh's Hercule Poirot franchise opened in theaters this weekend, but the debut wasn't strong enough to take down "The Nun II", which continues to dominate by a small margin.

"The Nun II" is still the #1 movie in its sophomore frame with $14.7 million, dropping 55%. The decline is actually softer than the first film's massive 66% second weekend drop. The film has grossed 56.5 million after 10 days in theaters, and with another $102.3 million overseas, the worldwide tally has reached $158.8 million.
20th Century Studios' "A Haunting in Venice" opened in second place with $14.5 million from 3,305 theaters. The debut is slightly higher than that of 2022's "Death on the Nile" ($12.8 million), but significantly lower than 2017's "Murder on the Orient Express" ($28.6 million). Overseas, the film adds $22.7 million. The film cost around $60 million to produce. "A Haunting in Venice" received a positive reception from critics (79% on Rotten Tomatoes), but lukewarm reactions from moviegoers ("B" CinemaScore).

The sequel "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3" fell 53% in its second weekend and landed in fourth place, grossing $4.7 million over the weekend. After 10 days in theaters, the film has grossed a total of $18.5 million. Internationally, it only grossed $5.3 million, so far.
The Top 5 is rounded out by "Barbie" which is now in its ninth week in theaters. The film dropped just 30% and grossed $3.9 million. A massive hit worldwide, the film has grossed a total of $626.1 million in North America, $790.6 million internationally, and $1.4 billion overall.
