Two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank ("Million Dollar Baby") is set to star in the action thriller by Greg Kwedar ("Transpecos") from a script he co-wrote alongside Cilnt Bentley. Swank will also executive produce.
The film is set in Latin America and will follow a downed pilot (Swank), wounded and isolated deep in hostile territory, whose survival relies on trusting a stranger who claims to be part of a vast secret network designed to bring her to safety. N.A.R. (Non-conventional Assisted Recovery) is the name of an actual U.S. Defense Department program.
Producers include David Thwaites and John Logan Pierson alongside "Deepwater Horizon" and "Lone Survivor" helmer Peter Berg for Film 44. Career counterintelligence officer and NAR handler Bryan Stern will serve as executive producer. Filming is expected to begin in 2023.
Swank recently finished work on the indie film "Mother's Milk" in which she stars alongside Olivia Cooke and Jack Reynor. She also stars in Lionsgate's "Ordinary Angels" opposite Alan Ritchson ("Jack Reacher").
