Emmy Awards 2020: The Complete Winners List

Watchmen Emmy Winner

The 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced during an unconventional ceremony on Sunday night, following last week's five nights of Creative Arts Emmy ceremonies. In the end, the big winner was HBO, scoring no less than 30 trophies out of 107 noms. Netflix came in with the most nominations (160) and ended the five-day Creative Arts awards at a tie with HBO (19 wins each), but during Sunday's telecast it only scored 2 additional trophies, falling well behind the premium cabler.

HBO scored 11 wins on Sunday, including outstanding limited series for "Watchmen", best limited series actress for Regina King, limited supporting actor for Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and writing for a limited series or movie.

"Succession" won Best Drama, as well as Best Actor (Jeremy Strong), Writing for a Drama and Directing for a Drama. Zendaya also took home the Best Actress trophy for her role in "Euphoria", while Mark Ruffalo won for Lead Actor in a Limited Series.

A pleasant surprise was that "Schitt's Creek" became the first series to win every major comedy award, including wins for Eugene Levy, Daniel Levy, Catherine O'Hara and Annie Murphy. It was also a major win for Pop TV, which brought home 10 wins, nine of which for this often underrated comedy.

It's also worth mentioning that the Disney Plus "Star Wars" spinoff series "The Mandalorian" scored 7 wins at the Creative Arts Emmys.
