The latest installment in the Conjuring universe, "The Nun II" performed as well as expected, and dominated an otherwise muted weekend. Another sequel, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3" failed to make an impression.

"The Nun II" opened in first place with $32.6 million from 3,728 theaters. That's 39% less than the first film, which opened with $53.8 million in 2018. Overseas, the new installment raked in $52.7 million, which brings the worldwide total to $85.3 million. The film received a mixed-to-negative reception from critics (45% on Rotten Tomatoes), and it seems moviegoers were also disappointed by it ("C+" CinemaScore).
"The Equalizer 3" dropped to second place and grossed $12.1 million. That's a steep 65% drop from its impressive Labor Day opening weekend. The decline is steeper than for both previous films, which dropped 46% and 61% respectively. After 10 days in theaters, the domestic cume has reached $61.9 million, while overseas it adds another $45.8 million for a global total of $107.7 million.

The Top 5 is rounded out by "Barbie", now in its eighth week. The film dropped 42% and grossed $5.9 million over the weekend. The film has now grossed a total of $620.4 million domestically, $782.2 million overseas, and a worldwide total of $1.4 billion.
