"The Super Mario Bros Movie" dominated its third weekend at the box-office with a record-breaking performance. The horror film "Evil Dead Rise" scored a decent debut, but the war action drana "The Covenant" failed to impress.

"The Super Mario Bros. Movie" is still the #1 movie for a third consecutive week with $58.2 million, which is the best third weekend for an animated movie ever. It also managed a soft 36.9% decline from last week. The film has now grossed a total of $434.3 milllion domestically and another $437.5 million overseas, which brings its worldwide cume to $871.8 million.
"Evil Dead Rise" opened in second place with $23.5 million from 3,402 theaters. The film also raked in $16.8 million from overseas markets. It received mostly positive reviews from critics (84% on Rotten Tomatoes), but a lukewarm reception from moviegoers ("B" CinemaScore).
Guy Ritchie's new movie "The Covenant" opened in third place with $6.2 million from 2,611 theaters. The film received a positive reception from both critics (81% on Rotten Tomatoes) and audiences ("A" CinemaScore).
"John Wick: Chapter 4" finished its fifth weekend in fourth place with $5.7 million, dropping 29%. The film's domestic total has reached $168.8 million, while overseas it has earned $189.6 million, which adds up to $358.4 million worldwide.
The Top 5 is rounded out by the biopic "Air" with $5.5 million. The film has now grossed $41.7 million in North America, and another $21 million internationally.
