"Shang Chi" is still the #1 movie in North America with $13.3 million in its fourth weekend. This brings its domestic total to $196.5 million, surpassing the $183.6 million grossed by "Black Widow", while overseas it has raked in $166.9 million.
Universal's musical "Dear Evan Hansen" opened in second place with $7.5 million from 3,364 theaters. The film's saving grace is that it only cost around $28 million to produce, but it's still a disappointing start for the film, which was predicted to score an estimated $10 million. "Dear Evan Hansen" did not open in any international markets.
"Free Guy" is still stubbornly holding on, finishing in third place with $4.1 million after seven weeks. The film dropped only 18.8%. Its domestic tally has reached $114.1 million, while its overseas cume is now at $203.3 million.
The horror film "Candyman" held over in fourth place with $2.5 million in its fifth weekend, dropping only 28.8%. The film has raked in $56.8 million domestically and another $14.8 million overseas.
The Top 5 is rounded out by Clint Eastwood's "Cry Macho" with $2.1 million in its sophomore weekend, dropping 52.2% from an already disappointing debut, and it has grossed a total of $8.3 million domestically.
