Yes, it's not a big opening, but it was enough for the DC Comics flick to secure the top spot over the weekend, as the North American box-office seems to be taking a hit these days.

Warner Bros' comic book blockbuster "The Suicide Squad" failed to meet expectations, which hinted at a $30 milion debut, and only managed to rake in $26.5 million from 4,002 theaters. It's weak, but it's also the best R-rated opening during the pandemic. Overseas, however, the film did a little better, grossing $45.7 million, so far. The film was also released via HBO Max, which may have hurt its box-office performance. Overall, starting out with only $72.2 million worldwide could prove problematic against its $185 million budget and who knows how much in advertising costs.
In second place we find last week's #1 film, Jungle Cruise", which dropped 55.2%, grossing $15.6 million in its second weekend. This brings its domestic cume to $65.3 million, while overseas it added another $56.5 million for a worldwide total of $121.8 million.
M. Night Shyamalan's "Old" finished in third place with $4.1 million in its third week, and has now grossed $38.5 million domestically, and another $26.7 million overseas.
At #4 we find the Disney-Marvel movie "Black Widow", which dropped 38.1% from last week, grossing $4 million this weekend. The film has grossed a total of $174.4 million domestically and another $185.4 million overseas.
The Top 5 is once again rounded out by the indie thriller "Stillwater" with $2.9 million, falling 44.9% from its opening weekend.
