Read more about the weekend box-office after the jump.

"The Wild Robot" opened in first place with $35.7 million from 3,962 theaters. Overseas it grossed $18.1 million from 21 markets, which brings the worldwide debut to $53.9 million against a $78 million budget. The film enjoyed a positive reception from both critics (98% on Rotten Tomatoes) and moviegoers ("A" CinemaScore).

"Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" is still going strong, raking in $16.2 million in its fourth weekend, down 37.5% from the previous frame. The sequel has now grossed a total of $250.3 million domestically and $123.8 million from foreign markets. That adds up to $374.1 million worldwide against a budget of $100 million.

The animated film "Transformers One" dropped a massive 62.8% in its sophomore weekend, finishing in third place with $9.1 million. The film's domestic tally has reached $39 million, while internationally it adds another $32.8 million for a global total of $71.8 million. The film reportedly cost around $75 million to produce.

The Indian Telugu-language action film "Devara: Part 1" opened in fourth place with $5.6 million from 1,040 theaters.

The Top 5 is rounded out by the thriller "Speak No Evil" with $4.2 million, a 26.6% decline from last week. The film has now grossed $28 million in North America and $29.5 million internationally. The worldwide total has reached $57.6 million after three weeks in theaters.

"Megalopolis" opened in sixth place with a disappointing $4 million from 1,854 theaters. That's strike five for Lionsgate following box-office disasters "The Crow", "Never Let Go", "1992" and "The Killer's Game", which were all released in September. The critical reception was mixed-to-negative (49% on Rotten Tomatoes), while audiences disliked it ("D+").
