As Summer is coming to an end, the US box-office is still doing well thanks to some pretty impressive earners. "Deadpool & Wolverine" made a comeback over the weekend, becoming the first film to return to No. 1 after losing the top spot since "Wonka" performed the same feat over the 2023 New Year's Eve weekend. It wasn't all good news, however, as newcomers like "Blink Twice", "The Forge" and "The Crow" failed to impress.

"Deadpool & Wolverine" once again dominates the box-office, grossing $18.3 million over the weekend, a 39% decline from the previous frame. After five weeks in theaters, the film has grossed a total of $577.2 million domestically and $634.8 million internationally, which adds up to $1.2 billion worldwide.
"Alien: Romulus" dropped to second place with $16.3 million, a steep 61% decline from its impressive debut. While it's a big drop, it's not an unusual drop for the genre. "Alien" films usually decline between 50-60% in their sophomore weekends, so it's no cause for alarm. So far, the film has grossed a total of $72.8 million in North America, but overseas it's doing even better, adding $41.6 million for a total of $152.4 million. China is delivering the biggest numbers, grossing a total of $73.7 million ($26 million debut and $19.7 million sophomore weekend). "Alien: Romulus" has now grossed $225.2 million worldwide.
"It Ends with Us" finished its third weekend in third place with $11.6 million, down 51.1% despite adding 100 new theaters. The domestic cume has now reached $120.6 million, while overseas it adds another $121.8 million for a global total of $242.4 million. Not bad for a movie that cost only $25 million to produce.
In fourth place we find the first of the newcomers, Zoe Kravitz's directorial debut "Blink Twice" with $7.3 million from 3,067 theaters. It's not a great start despite the film's low $20 million budget. Overseas it grossed another $6.7 million. The film received a positive critical reception (75% on Rotten Tomatoes), but the audience reception was lukewarm ("B-" CinemaScore).
The Top 5 is rounded out by the faith-based drama "The Forge" which opened with a weak $6.6 million from 1,818 theaters.
"The Crow" reboot opened in eighth place with $4.6 million from 2,752 theaters. It's not a very wide release, but the debut is still a major disappointment. Another $4.6 million were added from foreign markets. A $9.2 million global debut makes this movie a pretty big flop considering its $50 million budget. While the film was ravaged by critics (20% on Rotten Tomatoes), the audience reception was more on the mixed side ("B-" CinemaScore).
In other news, "Inside Out 2" has become the first animated film to hit $1 billion at the international box-office. The sequel finished the weekend in tenth place with $2 million, and the domestic box-office has reached $646.2 million. After 11 weeks in theaters, the film has grossed an incredible total of $1.6 billion.
