Kate Winslet has signed on to star in the upcoming new series "The Spot" from writer Ed Solomon and A24. Hulu has given it a straight-to-series order. Solomon most recently co-created the Max limited series "Full Circle" with Steven Soderbergh. He has also written films like "Men in Black", as well as the "Bill & Ted" and "Now You See Me" movies.
The story follows a successful surgeon (Winslet) and her school teacher husband who begin to suspect that she may be responsible for a child's hit-and-run death. Their quest for truth spirals into a web of mounting suspicion and dark secrets, testing their resolve and their relationship as they confront the possibility of hidden guilt and betrayal.
Solomon serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Winslet will also executive produce under her Juggle Productions banner. A24 is the lead studio in co-production with 20th Television.
Winslet can next be seen in the biopic "Lee" about the life of war journalist Lee Miller. She also stars in James Cameron's "Avatar: Fire and Ash".
