Farley is remembered as one of the best cast members in "Saturday Night Live" history, and starred in 1990s comedies like "Tommy Boy", "Black Sheep" and "Beverly Hills Ninja". After being sober for three years, Farley would relapse and fall back into drugs and alcohol, dying from an overdose in 1997 at 33.
Josh Gad is set to direct with Lorne Michaels, who found and cast Farley in SNL in the '90s. The script penned by Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber ("The Disaster Artist") is based on the biography "The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts' by Farley's brother Tom Farley Jr and Tanner Colby. Insiders say the family has given their blessing to the project.
Hauser's film credits include "Richard Jewell", "I, Tonya" and "Cruella". He earned a Golden Globe and an Emmy for his role in the 2022 miniseries "Black Bird" opposite Taron Egerton.
