Quentin Tarantino Abandons THE MOVIE CRITIC as His Final Film

Quentin Tarantino Scraps His Final Film

Quentin Tarantino has scrapped his plans "The Movie Critic", which was supposedly his final film as a director. This would have been Tarantino's tenth feature film and would have starred Brad Pitt in the lead role. Set in 1977, the film would have focused on a small-time movie critic who wrote smart reviews for a porn magazine.

It seems that the filmmaker does not intend to rewrite the script or revive the project, instead making plans to move on to something new. In addition to casting Pitt, the production had secured a $20 million tax subsidy from the state of California. There were rumors that many from the casts of his past films might take part, and Sony was preparing to make the film.

Tarantino's previously scrapped ideas include an R-rated "Star Trek" film in 2019, and a 2022 eight-episode TV series. He also previously intended to shelve "The Hateful Eight" after he gave a small group of actors his script, and soon enough it was publically available everywhere. Tarantino felt betrayed, but thankfully he returned to the project after staging a reading for charity and drawing raves for it.
