Olivia Wilde and Margot Robbie to Adapt Comic AVENGELYNE From Creator of DEADPOOL

Olivia Wilde And Margot Robbie Adapt Comic Avengelyne

Olivia Wilde, Margot Robbie and "X-Men" producer Simon Kinberg are teaming up for a big screen adaptation of the comic book character Avengelyne, which hails from "Deadpool" creator Rob Liefeld.

The film will be directed by Wilde ("Don't Worry Darling"). Created in 1995, Avengelyne is a fallen angel cast to Earth, who fights the forces of evil and often finds herself protecting humanity from demons and other monsters.

Producers include Robbie's company LuckyChap and her partners Tom Ackerley and Josie McNamara, as well as Kinberg. The project is currently being shopped to studios and streamers.

There have been previous attempts to bring Avengelyne to the big screen, including a 2013 adaptation starring Gina Carano. In 2016 Paramount reportedly secured the rights for a version from filmmaker Akiva Goldsman.

In the meantime, Wilde will direct Universal's upcoming Christmas comedy "Naughty".
