Pamela Anderson has joined the cast of Paramount Pictures' upcoming untitled "Naked Gun" reboot. The film will be directed by Akiva Schaffer, best know as one of the three members of The Lonely Island, and the director of "Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers". The original spoof, written and directed by Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams and David Zucker was based on their television series "Police Squad!"
Anderson is playing the love interest in the movie, a role Priscilla Presley played in the original. Liam Neeson will play clueless detective Frank Drebin, the role originated by Leslie Nielsen. Other plot details are being kept under wraps
The screenplay is penned by "Rescue Rangers" writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. Seth MacFarlane ("Family Guy", "Ted") is also producing the reboot alongside Erica Huggins via their Fuzzy Door banner. Daniel M. Stillman will executive produce.
The release date has been set for July 18, 2025.
