George Clooney and Adam Sandler are set to star in a new untitled Netflix film directed by Noah Baumbach ("Marriage Story") from a script he co-wrote alongside Emily Mortimer ("Doll and Em"). Baumbach is producing with Amy Pascal and David Heyman.
Plot details are unknown at this time, but the film has been described as being a funny and emotional coming-of-age film about adults. Baumbach has an exclusive deal with Netflix having previously directed "The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)", that also starred Sandler, "Marriage Story" and most recently "White Noise".
Clooney recently directed "Boys in the Boat" starring Calum Turner and Joel Edgerton, and the release date is set for Christmas. He is also set to star opposite Brad Pitt and Amy Adams in Apple's "Wolfs", which he is also producing.
Sandler also has a long-standing relationship with Netflix. He recently voiced the protagonist of the animated film "Leo", and starred in "You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah" and "Murder Mystery 2".
