"The Super Mario Bros. Movie" is still the #1 movie at the box-office. The film has delivered $40 million in its fourth weekend, declining only 33%, and breaking the record for best fourth weekend ever for an animated movie, which was previously held by "The Incredibles 2" ($28.4 million). "Evil Dead Rise" is holding in second place with $12.2 million in its sophomore frame, dropping 50%. The film has now grossed a total of $44.4 million domestically and $42.1 million internationally.

The coming-of-age comedy "Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret." opened in third place with $6.8 million from 3,343 theaters. The film only cost $30 million to produce. The critical reception has been almost universally positive (99% on Rotten Tomatoes), and moviegoers mostly enjoyed it ("A-" CinemaSCore).

The Top 5 is rounded out by Disney's 40th anniversary re-release of "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi", which earned $4.6 million from only 475 theaters.
