"John Wick: Chapter 4" scored a massive debut over the weekend, a franchise-best for the Keanu Reeves-led franchise which seems to be consistently getting better with each new installment, a rare feat these days.

The R-rated action film "John Wick: Chapter 4" topped the charts with $73.5 million from 3,855 theaters, surpassing the previous three films: 2015's "John Wick" ($14.4 million), 2017's "John Wick: Chapter Two" ($30.4 million) and 2019's "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" ($56.8 million). Overseas the film raked in $64 million for a worldwide total of $137.5 million. The film was very well received by both critics (95% on Rotten Tomatoes) and moviegoers ("A" CinemaScore).
The DC superhero movie "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" dropped to second place with $9.7 million, a massive 68% decline from its already disappointing opening weekend. The domestic cume has reached $46.3 million. The film grossed another $56.1 million overseas, which brings the worldwide total to $102.4 million.
"Scream VI" finished in third place with $8.4 million, dropping 52%. The film has now reached a domestic total of $89.8 million, while internationally it has raked in $49.4 million. That adds up to $139.3 million worldwide, which places the film ahead of 2022's "Scream" ($138.8 million), but it's still running behind the first three films, which grossed $173 million in 1996, $172.3 million in 1997 and $161.8 million in 2000.
In fourth place we find "Creed III" with $8.3 million. The film fell 46% compared to last week, and the film's domestic tally has reached $140.8 million, already surpassing both previous films: 2015's "Creed" ($109.7 million) and 2018's "Creed II" ($115.7 million). The threequel also adds another $105 million from international markets for a global total of $245.8 million.
The Top 5 is rounded out by "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" with $2.4 million, dropping 43%. The film has grossed a total of $209.8 million in North America, and another $257 million overseas, which all adds up to $466.8 million worldwide.
