Steven Yeun Joins Marvel Studios' THUNDERBOLTS In Key Role

Steven Yeun Picture

Oscar-nominated actor Steven Yeun ("Minari", "Nope", "The Walking Dead") has signed on to star in Marvel's upcoming movie "Thunderbolts". The film will be directed by Jake Schreier ("Robot & Frank", "Paper Towns") from a script by Eric Pearson ("Black Widow").

Not much is known about the plot of the film, but the comics follow a group of villains who are sent on missions commissioned by the government. The ensemble cast was announced during Disney's D23 event last year, and it includes Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, Olga Kurylenko and Ayo Edebiri. Yeun's part has been described as significant to this film, and he could also appear in future films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"Thunderbolts" is set to open in theaters on July 26, 2024. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is producing.

Yeun can next be seen this April in Netflix and A24's series "Beef", in which he stars alongside Ali Wong. He also stars in the sci-fi thriller "Mickey 17" directed by Bong Joon Ho.
