"Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" is turning out to be a disappointment for Marvel as the film stumbled in its sophomore weekend. Meanwhile, new releases "Cocaine Bear" and "Jesus Revolution" overperformed.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" is still the No. 1 movie at the box-office, but it dropped a steep 69.7% from its opening weekend, the worst sophomore drop in the history of the MCU. The film grossed $32.2 milion this weekend, which brings its domestic total to $167.3 milllion. Overseas it raked in a total of $196.3 million, bringing the worldwide cume to $363.6 million.
The horror comedy "Cocaine Bear" opened in second place with $23 million from 3,534 theaters, surpassing pre-release proejctions. The film also grossed $5.3 million from 50 international markets. It received a positive reception from critics (70% on Rotten Tomatoes), but only lukewarm reactions from moviegoers ("B-" CinemaScore).
Lionsgate's faith-based drama "Jesus Revolution" made its debut in third place with $15.5 million from 2,475 screens. The studio used grassroots marketing tactics, which included community screenings at churches and university campuses, and it really paid off. The film received mixed reviews from critics (53% on Rotten Tomatoes), but audiences loved it ("A+" CinemaScore).
"Avatar: The Way of Water" finished in fourth place with $4.7 million, dropping just 28.5% in its eleventh weekend. The film has now grossed $664 million domestically, $1.6 billion overseas, and a total of $2.26 billion worldwide. James Cameron's new blockbuster is now the third highest-grossing film of all time globally.
The Top 5 is rounded out by "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" with $4.1 million. The film dropped just 22.8% and has now grossed a total of $173.4 million domestically and another $269.1 million overseas.
