Claire Danes Joins FX Limited Series FLEISHMAN IS IN TROUBLE

Golden Globe-winning actor Claire Danes ("Homeland", "Temple Grandin") has joined the cast of FX's upcoming limited series "Fleishman is in Trouble", based on the novel of the same name by journalist Taffy Brodesser-Akner. The series will stream on Hulu. Brodesser-Akner wrote and executive produces the mini-series.

The plot focuses on recently divorced forty-something Toby Fleishman (Eisenberg), who starts using dating apps and enjoying his sexual freedom before his ex-wife mysteriously disappears, leaving him with his kids. Now, Fleishman will have to take a look at what happened to their marriage to figure out what happened to Rachel (Danes), all while balancing parenting, promotions and hookups. While she initially enjoys her freedom after leaving Toby, Rachel ultimately struggles with her new identity. Caplan plays female lead Libby, the show's narrator and Toby's friend.

The cast also includes Adam Brody, Maxim Jasper Swinton, and Meara Mahoney Gross. "Fleishman Is in Trouble" doesn't have a release date yet.

Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Susannah Grant, Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris will also serve as executive producers. Dayton and Faris will also direct part of the series. The mini-series is produced by ABC Signature, part of Disney TV Studios.

Danes can next be seen in the Apple TV+ limited series "The Essex Serpent.
