Robert Pattinson In Talks To Star in PARASITE Director Bong Joon Ho's New Film

Robert Pattinson In Talks To Star in PARASITE Director Bong Joon Ho's New Film

Oscar-winning Korean filmmaker Bong Joon Ho ("Parasite", "Snowpiercer") has found his next project. Bong is in talks to write and direct an untitled sci-fi film based on "Mickey7", the upcoming novel from author Edward Ashton, which will be published in the first quarter of 2022 by St. Martin, a Macmillan imprint.

"The Batman" star Robert Pattinson is also in talks to star in the lead role. The story follows Mickey7, an Expendable: a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim. Whenever there's a mission that’s too dangerous—even suicidal—the crew turns to Mickey. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact. After six deaths, Mickey7 understands the terms of his deal…and why it was the only colonial position unfilled when he took it.

The project is being set up at Warner Bros, and Bong will also produce the untitled film for his production company Offscreen alongside Dooho Choi for Kate Street Picture Company and Plan B. This marks Bong's second deal with WarnerMedia in recent months following an HBO limited series based on "Parasite" in the works with Bong executive producing alongside Adam McKay.
