Box-Office: SPIDER-MAN Wins 6th Weekend and Crosses $1 Billion Overseas

This weekend, Sony and Marvel's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" defied both the pandemic and Winter Storm Kenan to dominate the weekend box-office for a sixth time. It also helped that there were no new wide releases this week.

Read more about the weekend box-office after the jump.

"Spider-Man: No Way Home" is still the No. 1 movie at the North American box-office. It has held its crown for six weekends out of its seven weekend run, a feat comparable to films like "Return of the Jedi" and "Rocky IV". "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" holds the absolute record with 16 weekends at No. 1. "Avatar" is this century's record holder with seven No. 1 weekends.

The film dropped just 21% and grossed $11 million over the weekend, bringing its domestic total to $735.8 million, with around $25 million left to go before it beats James Cameron's "Avatar". Overseas, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" has crossed the $1 billion milestone. Its worldwide total now stands at $1.74 billion.

"Scream" is holding in second place with $7.3 million (39.8% drop), and its domestic tally has reached $62.1 million. The sequel also added another $6.5 million overeas for an international total of $44.1 million.

The animated sequel "Sing 2" holds at No.3 with $4.8 million in its sixth weekend. The film's domestic tally now stands at $134.5 million, while overseas it grossed a total of $133.4 million.

In fourth place we find "Redeeming Love", which grossed 1.8 million in its sophomore weekend, dropping 48% from its debut. The film has grossed a total of $6.5 million in ten days.

The Top 5 is rounded out by "The King's Man" with $1.75 million. The film has grossed a disappointing total of $34 million domestically after six weeks in theaters, and around $80 million overseas, against a $100 million budget.
