Benedict Cumberbatch, Laura Dern, Noah Jupe to Star in Sci-Fi Film MORNING

Benedict Cumberbatch ("Spider-Man: No Way Home", "The Power of the Dog"), Laura Dern ("Big Little Lies") and Noah Jupe ("A Quiet Place") have joined the sci-fi film "Morning" directed by Justin Kurzel ("Macbeth", "Assassin's Creed") from a script by Manchester-born writer Sam Steiner.

Set in the near future, the film envisions a society that has discovered a pill which does away with the need to sleep. With the added help of an artificial sun, there is finally no end to morning daylight, living and work. But as a young generation grows up deprived of the world of sleep, is it time for them to rebel and reclaim their dreams ? Here is the film's official synopsis:
"Ambitious and driven Cathy (Dern) was an early advocate of a sleepless world, but as she and her son Danny (Jupe) pick up the pieces of their lives following the death of her husband Frank (Cumberbatch), she finds the universe she helped to build is starting to crumble around her, whilst memories she fought so hard to repress are bleeding into her waking life. As Danny is further drawn into a subversive underworld of dreamers, Cathy must confront her nightmares and fight hard not to lose her son."
Kurzel will reunite with his previous collaborators including cinematographer Adam Arkapaw and costume designer Alice Babidge. The filmmaker's recent film "Nitram" was nominated for the Palme d'Or and lead actor Caleb Landry Jones won the Best Actor award at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.
