After six weeks at No. 1, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" stepped down this weekend as "Jackass Forever" and "Moonfall" opened in theaters. While the former scored a predictably solid debut, the latter failed to connect to its intended audience.

"Jackass Forever" conquered the weekend box-office with $23.5 million from 3,604 theaters, which is the second-lowest debut of the series that also includes: "Jackass: The Movie" ($22.7 million in 2002), "Jackass Number Two" ($29 million in 2006), and "Jackass 3D" ($50 million in 2010). However, the film only cost $10 million to produce. It also added another $5.2 million overseas from 9 countries. The new installment received strong reviews from critics (85% Rotten Tomatoes) and moviegoers generally enjoyed it ("B+" CinemaScore).
Roland Emmerich's sci-fi disaster epic "Moonfall" opened in second place with only $10 million from 3,446 theaters, against a $146 million budget. Good word of mouth is not going to help either, since the film received a negative reception from both critics (40% Rotten Tomatoes) and moviegoers ("C+" CinemaScore).
In third place we find the former box-office champ "Spider-Man: No Way Home" with $9.6 million, which brings its domestic total to $748.9 million after eight weeks in theaters. The film is around $11 million shy of becoming the third highest-grossing film of all time in North America, if it manages to surpass "Avatar" ($760.5 million - not adjusted for inflation). Overseas it added another $15.6 million for an international total of $1.02 billion. Its worldwide cume now stands at $1.77 billion. The film has not yet been released in China.
The horror sequel "Scream" finished in fourth place with $4.7 million. Its domestic tally has reached $68.9 million after four weeks in theaters, while overseas it grossed a total of $51.4 million.
The animated film "Sing 2" rounds out the Top 5 with $4.17 million for a total of $139.5 million. Overseas it grossed a total of $151.9 million.
