Will Poulter ("The Revenant", "The Maze Runner") has joined the cast of Marvel's upcoming sequel "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3". James Gunn will write and direct the film which is set to begin production in November. Plot details are being kept under wraps.
Poulter will star as Adam Warlock, whose introduction was teased in one of the mid-credits teasers in 2017's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", in which Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki), leader of the Sovereign people, creates a being she names "Adam" with the purpose of destroying the Guardians of the Galaxy. Gunn also said that he originally wanted to introduce the character in Vol. 2, but ultimated decided to delay his debut to Vol. 3.
Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper (as the voice of Rocket) and Vin Diesel (as the voice of Groot) are all expected to return for the sequel.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" will be released on May 5, 2023.
Poulter can next be seen in Hulu's limited series "Dopesick".
