Oscar Isaac Michelle Williams To Star In Hbo Limited Series

Oscar Issac ("Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker") and Michelle Williams ("The Greatest Showman") are set to star in HBO's upcoming limited series based on Ingmar Bergman's "Scenes From a Marriage". The project hails from Hagai Levi ("Our Boys", "Affair"), who will adapt the classic miniseries and will also direct and executive produce.

The new limited series will re-examine the original miniseries' iconic depiction of love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple, who will be played by Isaac and Williams. The actors will also serve as executive producers alongsided Michael Ellenberg, Amy Herzog, Lars Blomgren, Daniel Bergman and Blair Breard.

Bergman's "Scenes From a Marriage" starred Liv Ullman and Erland Josephson and it originally aired on Swedish television in 1973, and was later edited down for theatrical release in 1974 in the U.S.

Williams recently won a Golden Globe and Emmy for her performance in FX's limited series "Fosse/Verdon, and also appeared in last year's "After the Wedding". She will reprise her "Venom" role in the sequel "Let There Be Carnage".

Isaac will next be seen starring in the sci-fi epic "Dune" based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Frank Herbert. He is also set to star in James Gray's period drama "Armageddon Time" opposite Robert De Niro, Donald Sutherland, Anne Hathaway and Cate Blanchett, as well as Paul Schrader's "The Card Counter", which is executive produced by Martin Scorsese.
