Anne Hathaway, Bill Murray to Star in Dog Drama BUM'S RUSH

Anne Hathaway Bill Murray Dog Drama Bums Rush

Anne Hathaway and Bill Murray have signed on to star in the indie buddy movie "Bum's Rush" directed by Aaron Schneider ("Greyhound", "Get Low") from a script by C. Gaby Mitchell ("Blood Diamond").

Hathaway will star as a custom boot maker who crosses paths with a stray dog, Bum, voiced by Bill Murray. The two find themselves at a serious crossroads that will change both their hearts and minds in ways they can hardly imagine. Robert Duvall is in talks to join the cast.

Sarah Green ("Tree of Life") will produce with Mitchell and Schneider. The film will shoot on location in Santa Barbara and New Mexico. CAA Media Finance is shopping the domestic rights, while Rocket Science will handle international sales starting at the Cannes virtual market.

Here's what Schneider had to say about the film:
"I am so happy to reunite with my ‘Get Low’ collaborators Robert Duvall, Bill Murray and C. Gaby Mitchell and of course delighted to work with Anne Hathaway and Sarah Green. It's a very special project and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. We are all dog lovers on this team, and now more than ever we appreciate their value in our lives."
Schneider's first feature, the 2009 drama "Get Low" earned him the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature, while his 2003 live action short film "Two Soldiers" won an Academy Award.
