Justin Timberlake is set to star in SK Global's upcoming drama "Palmer". The film will be directed by Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker and actor Fisher Stevens ("The Cove", "Before the Flood") from a screenplay by Cheryl Guerriero ("Pledge This!"), which was named to the 2016 Black List.
The story follows Eddie Palmer (Timberlake), a former college football phenomenon who, after a stint in prison, returns to his hometown to get his life back on track. There, he faces not only lingering conflicts from his past but also a much more surprising challenge as he finds himself suddenly in charge of a unique young boy who has been abandoned by his wayward mother.
"Green Book" producer Charles B. Wessler will produce alongside SK Global co-CEOs John Penotti and Charlie Corwin. Here's what Penotti and Corwin had to say about the project:
Timberlake will also reprise his voice role on the animated film "Trolls World Tour", DreamWorks Animation's sequel to "Trolls". Stevens is currently at TIFF with his new documentary "And We Go Green", and he is also co-starring in Edward Norton's "Motherless Brooklyn", which is also playing at TIFF.
