"Maze Runner" trilogy star Dylan O'Brien is set to star in Paramount's dystopian thriller "Infinite". Directed by Antoine Fuqua ("The Equalizer", "Olympus Has Fallen") from a script by Ian Shorr ("Splinter"), the film is based on D. Eric Maikranz's 2009 novel "The Reincarnationist Papers".
The story centers on Cognomina, a secret society of people who possess total recall of their past lives. A troubled young man haunted by memories of two past lives stumbles upon the centuries-old society and decides to join their ranks. There are no details available regarding O'Brien's role.
The cast also includes Mark Wahlberg and Sophie Cookson ("Kingsman"). O'Brien is replacing Chris Evans who was forced to drop out due to scheduling issues with his Apple TV series "Defending Jacob". The film will be produced by John Zaozirny, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian, and executive produced by Rafi Crohn.
Production is expected to begin this fall, and the release date has been set for August 7, 2020.
O'Brien will also star in the mystery thriller "The Education of Fredrick Fitzell" opposite Maika Monroe and Hannah Gross, and the post-apocalyptic comedy "Monster Problems".
