Robert De Niro and Shia LaBeouf to Star in Crime Drama AFTER EXILE

Robert De Niro And Shia Labeouf To Star In Crime Drama After Exile

Oscar winner Robert De Niro ("Taxi Driver", "Goodfellas") and Shia LaBeouf ("Transformers") are set to star in the upcoming indie crime drama "After Exile". The film will be directed by Joshua Michael Stern ("Jobs", "Swing Vote") from a script by Anthony Thorne ("Badge of Honor") and Michael Tovo.

The story is based on true events from Tovo's life, and it follows Mike Delaney (LaBeouf), an ex-con released from prison for killing an innocent man after a violent robbery, who must re-enter his old life with his father Ted (De Niro), also an ex-con suffering from alcoholism and guilt, in order to save his younger brother from a life of drugs and crime. Filming is expected to begin this October in Philadelphia.

De Niro can be seen this year in Martin Scorsese's highly anticipated Netflix crime epic "The Irishman", in which he stars opposite Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, and he also makes an appearance in Todd Phillips' "Joker" starring Joaquin Phoenix.

LaBeouf can currently be seen in the adventure drama "The Peanut Butter Falcon", and he also stars in the autobiographical drama "Honey Boy", which he wrote based on his own childhood and which premiered at Sundance earlier this year.
