Vince Vaughn ("Dragged Across Concrete") and Kathyrn Newton ("Pokémon Detective Pikachu") are in talks to star in Blumhouse's upcoming body-swapping thriller from "Happy Death Day" series helmer Christopher Landon.

Currently untitled, the film tells the story of a high school student (Newton) who suddenly switches bodies with a deranged serial killer (Vaughn), and discovers she has less than 24 hours to find a way to reverse the switch before it becomes permanent.

Landon will direct and also co-wrote the script with Michael Kennedy, and Jason Blum will produce alongside Adam Hendricks. Landon and Blumhouse's previous collaborations include "Paranormal Activity 2", "Paranormal Activity 3", "Paranormal Activity 4", and "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones", which he also directed.

Vaughn, who has been moving away from comedy to take on more dramas and thrillers, can also be seen in the drama "Sebert", which will debut next month at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Newton can be seen next year in the second season of Netflix's dystopian series "The Society"
