Disney and Marvel's "Captain Marvel" dominated the box-office in its second weekend, but newcomers "Wonder Park" and "Five Feet Apart" still managed to perform better than expected. Not all newcomers did well, however. The sci-fi flick "Captive State" struggled with its semi-wide debut.

Find out more about the weekend box-office after the jump.

"Captain Marvel" dropped 54.8% this weekend, which improves the MCU's 56% second weekend drop average. The film brought in another $69.3 million, and its domestic total now stands at $266.2 million after 10 days in theaters. Internationally, the film brought in $119.7 million this weekend from 54 markets, and its overseas total has reached $494 million. With $760 million grossed worldwide, the film is currently Marvel's tenth highest grossing global release.

Paramount's animated film "Wonder Park" opened in second place with $16 million from 3,838 theaters. While it's a better result than what the studio expected, it's also pretty terrible when compared to its reported $100 million budget. The film also opened in 19 international markets and brought in an estimated $4.3 million. "Wonder Park" received negative reviews from critics (30% on Rotten Tomatoes and 46 on Metacritic), but a decent reception from moviegoers ("B+" grade from CinemaScore).

The romantic drama "Five Feet Apart" was also an overperformer, opening with $13.1 million from 3,727 theaters, against a $7 million budget. The film received a mixed reception from critics (53% on Rotten Tomatoes and 52 on Metacritic) but a much warmer welcome from audiences ("A" grade from CinemaScore).

"How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" dropped to #4 with $9.3 million, which brings its domestic total to $134.6 million. Internationally, the film's tally has reached $330.9 million.

The Top 5 is rounded out by Tyler Perry's "A Madea Family Funeral" with $8 million. The film has grossed a total of $59 million, so far.

A big surprise is the debut of  the Mexican comedy "No Manches Frida 2", which opened with $3.8 million from just 472 theaters. The first film scored a similar debut ($3.6 million) in 2016.

The last of the new wide releases, the sci-fi thriller "Captive State" opened in seventh place with $3.1 million from 2,548 theaters. While the film only cost $25 million to produce, it's still quite a weak debut. It also doesn't help that audiences don't seem to like it much ("C-" grade from CinemaScore). The critical reception was similarly lackluster (47% on Rotten Tomatoes and 49 on Metacritic").
