The box-office slowed down over the Super Bowl weekend and allowed M. Night Shyamalan's "Glass" to top the charts for a third consecutive week. Most films registered steep drops, and new release "Miss Bala" failed to shine. Overall this is the worst Super Bowl weekend at the box-office since 2000.

"Glass" continues to dominate, grossing $9.5 million this weekend, which brings its domestic cume to $88.6 million, while internationally, it added another $12.2 million for a total of $110 million. An excellent performance for the $20 million flick.
Another holdover is the dramedy "The Upside", in second place for a third consecutive weekend, with $8.8 million after a soft 26% drop. The film's domestic total has reached $75.5 million against a $37.5 million budget.
This week's only new wide release, the remake "Miss Bala" opened with $6.7 million from 2,203 theaters against a $15 million budget. The film received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics (26% on Rotten Tomatoes and 41 on Metacritic), and audiences seem to be in agreement (62% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes and a terrible 4.9 out of 10 on IMDb).
"Aquaman" finished in fourth place with $4.7 million, but it continues to perform well, dropping just 34.1% after 45 days in theaters. The film's worldwide tally has reached $1.106 billion.
The Top 5 is rounded out by "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" with $4.4 million. The film has grossed $175.2 million domestically and another $172 million overseas. It is officially Sony Animation's highest grossing domestic release of all-time.
Rounding out the Top 10 is Peter Jackson's World War I documentary "They Shall Not Grow Old" with $2.4 million from 735 locations. The film was released in select theaters prior to this weekend, and has managed to rake in $8.3 million from only three event screenings.
