Find out more about the weekend box-office after the jump.

"Captain Marvel" opened with $153 million domestically over the weekend, the third highest March opening of all-time, while overseas it brought in $302 million, making it the fifth highest international debut. "Captain Marvel" received a generally positive reception from both critics (80% on Rotten Tomatoes and 64 on Metacritic) and moviegoers ("A" from CinemaScore).

The animated threequel "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" dropped to second place with $14.6 million over the weekend. The film has grossed a total of $119.6 million domestically. Internationally it added another $21.7 million this weekend for an overseas total of $315.5 million.

Tyler Perry's last Madea film "A Madea Family Funeral" finished in third place with $12 million, which brings its domestic total to $45.8 million against a $20 million budget

"The LEGO Movie 2" held over in fourth place with $3.8 million. The film has grossed $97.1 million domestically after five weeks in theaters, and $67.3 million overseas against a $100 million budget.

The Top 5 is rounded out by the sci-fi actioner "Alita: Battle Angel" with $3.2 million after a 56% drop. The film's domestic tally has reached $78.3 million, while internationally it's looking much better with a cume of $304.3 million.
